My goals for the end of the ten weeks was a weight loss of 9 kilos and to be completing four 30 min activity sessions a week.
My favourite results card is:
Trim & Tone or Weight Off!

I joined Fareham Leisure Centre on the 9th September 2008 on a GP referral with a variety of medical problems which involved frequent hospital admissions. I was also overweight at 109 kilos, asthmatic and suffering with balance problems.
The gym staff, without exception, were at all times supportive and caring, in particular the GP referral team who were always on hand to help and advise. Slowly with their help I started to get to grips with the different equipment - working towards a different goal every couple of weeks. There were setbacks but someone was always there to encourage me onwards. My goals for the end of the ten weeks was a weight loss of 9 kilos and to be completing four 30 min activity sessions a week. This in turn would hopefully reduce the time it took for me to recover between relapses.
Despite a hospital admission during that time, I achieved all my goals and have never looked back. Now eleven months on I weigh 77 kilos, am fitter than I have been for years and have gone from being in and out of hospital and for the most part housebound to having a future. It is hard work, you need to be committed, you will have times when you wonder if it is all worth it but with the GP referral scheme and the team behind you can achieve your goals. I urge anyone who is offered this great opportunity to grab it with both hands start to change your life. The great thing about this scheme is even when finished there is always someone on hand to help and advise you.
Best thing now is I'm keeping up with my grandson, I feel great.
