5 activity sessions a week on a budget.
My favourite results cards are:
5 Minutes to Fitness or Fast Track Fitness.

I visited about four different centres but was delighted to find that my local leisure centre offered me everything that I had at my private gym but was significantly cheaper – in fact, my whole family could be Everyone Active members for the price of my old private membership fee. I was particularly pleased that the centre offered swimming lessons – I have two children under the age of 10 who had previously been in private lessons and I wanted to transfer them onto a good standard of swimming lesson to help them progress.
I took on the 28 day activity planner as part of the 30 minute activity challenge as I really didn’t think that I would be able to fit in regular activity in my week, afterall, I was constantly running around after my kids rather than being active myself. I soon realised how active I already was. After filling in the planner for a week I saw that I was walking to and from school twice a day (which is about quarter of a mile away), cheerleading once a week and swimming when my kids were at their swimming lessons. I started to supplement that with regular gym visits and I soon found that I was surpassing my 5 activity sessions a week target.
My kids have got in on the act as well now – they have started to keep their activity records online and set themselves challenges. They are far more active than I am but they have more time for it than I do. The swimming lessons have been a revelation. My eldest daughter has flown through them and is now on her silver award and my youngest daughter is much more confident in the water and recently gained her 25 meter badge.
I can now fit activity into my life very easily and I feel much better for it, so do the rest of my family and my bank balance is much healthier too.
