Like most people using gym equipment for the first time (especially in the weights area), I felt awkward and wasn’t sure how to use anything. One of the Fitness Motivators talked to me about completing the 30 minute activity challenge and showed me some results cards that would help me put together a routine both inside and outside of gym.
Starting out, it was a little embarrassing because I didn’t know what I was doing and could barely lift a weight. However, just like everything else; everyone has started from the bottom and worked their way up to where they are. Working out isn’t a competition with everyone else in the gym, rather it was steps I was taking to make a better me. Planning my activities for the first 28 days on-line really helped me to stay focused and I still plan them now to ensure I stay active.
I recently ran my first 10K and loved it!! I already have another 10K coming up and I will be training for my first half marathon next month. I no longer snore and my biggest success - I feel great about myself! I even wash my car with much more energy knowing that it all contributes to an active lifestyle. I am proud of what I have already accomplished. I never would have imagined that I would enjoy staying so active but it has become a huge part of my daily life.
